Wolves 0-2 Bournemouth: Eli Kroupi Junior and Alex Scott end Cherries five-month wait for away win

Goals in either half from Eli Kroupi Junior and Alex Scott ended Bournemouth's five-month wait for an away win as Wolves were left to rue a number of missed chances in a 2-0 defeat at Molineux.

The Cherries hadn't won away since beating Tottenham 1-0 in north London on August 30, but after a 154-day wait they won on the road once more, this time in nervy fashion at Molineux.

Kroupi Junior's excellent first-half finish turned the momentum the Cherries' way after an end-to-end opening half hour between two sides enjoying recent resurgences, after Mateus Mane had seen an early goal for the hosts ruled out by an offside flag.

After Bournemouth's dominance faded, substitute Jorgen Stand Larsen scuffed a gilt-edged chance on the rebound after his own effort was saved in what may be his final appearance for the club amid ongoing interest from Crystal Palace.

Tolu Arokodare was also guilty of squandering another fine chance as he blazed over on his weaker left foot after working space, before Joao Gomes' header from a corner hit the far post with time running out.

It seemed a matter of time before one of Wolves' second-half chances would find its way beyond Djordje Petrovic until Scott was teed up by Bournemouth debutant Rayan for a simple finish to secure a long-awaited away win late on.

Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola to Your Site:

"It was a nice way to mark my 100th game. We needed this win. The game was more level than 2-0 because we faced a good team."

On Kroupi Jr's impact: "I think we've been working a lot with him, he's given us a lot of work rate. We're trying to find a way to play with two number nines.

"In possession we are more of a threat if we can put Junior and Evanilson around the box we offer a threat. I am pleased with the work he is doing and he can stay on the pitch."

Wolves head coach Rob Edwards to Your Site:

"We started the game very well, but then after probably 20 minutes or so made one or two mistakes that played into their hands with the way they want to play with their counter press. That gave them some belief and the game they wanted for the rest of the first half.

We were very dominant in the second half, we've created a lot of chances and had a lot of shots, a lot on target. We've got to be more ruthless."

On Jorgen Strand Larsen's future: "Time will tell. We'll see what happens in the next few days. It's something that's out of my control."
